NPF unhappy over ECI's decision on Arunachal polls
Kohima, Sept 21: With only few days left for filing nominations for the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections, the Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF) today expressed unhappiness over the ''delay tactics'' of the Election Commission in giving the green signal to the NPF to contest elections in that state.
In a release issued here, NPF secretary general KG Kenye said the NPF, being one of the oldest regional political parties in the North East, had recently decided to contest the October 13 Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh.
The NPF, with the cock symbol, is contemplating to field at least five candidates in Tirap and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh, he stated.
The secretary general also expressed his party's displeasure over the alleged delay of the ECI in granting the green signal to the NPF to contest the forthcoming Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh.
A team of the NPF, led by political advisor to Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and former Nagaland Speaker Z Lohe, is camping in Arunachal Pradesh since last few days, party sources said.

ITANAGAR, Sept 21: East Kameng District Congress Committee president Hari Natung said that the allegation leveled by MLA Tani Loffa that there was an attempt on his life by some unidentified youths of Seba and Ningcho on September 14 and 15 is false and rubbish.
Natung said that the incident must be the handy work of some persons wanting to disrupt the poll activities of the ensuing assembly elections and to distort the image of INC candidate of Seppa West.
Natung urged upon the people to abstain from such heinous act which has no place in the democracy. He further urged upon leaders of other political parties of East Kameng district not to encourage the people to take part in such activities.
Natung also urged the state government and the district administration to keep strict vigil so that such incidence does not occur in the near future.

ITANAGAR, Sept 21: Yes, you read it correct. Delhi University in a letter to Dr M Q Khan, Associate Professor of English at Dera Natung Govt College, zeroed down that Itanagar is in Andhra Pradesh, much to the shock of the learned teacher.
Dr Khan had applied for the post of Associate professor in Delhi University. In response to the application, University sent a calling letter, without much home work.
The address obviously confused the postal department as well. The letter arrived on Sept 14 whereas the interview was to be held on Sept 9.
When an Institution of repute makes such gross mistake, one cannot accuse ordinary Indians of being ignorant. It looks like, they have a long way to go.

EVM awareness campaign and training to voters was also conducted here at General Ground.
This campaign began from Pakoti and Mebua on Sept 18, Bana and Pampoli were covered on Sept 19 in which the trainers from DEO's office imparted training to the voters on EVM operation and methodology.
ANINI: In order to ensure smooth conduct of Assembly elections in Dibang Valley District. Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer, Tayor Jempen is leaving no stone unturned to look into every aspect.
As a part of this exercise, a team of experts from Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) today imparted training to the master trainers on use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM).
All the nodal officers of EVM awareness team have attended the training programme, which was held at the office PHED Inquiry office, Anini.
The Master Trainers will conduct awareness campaign in interior and remote circle HQs of Dibang Valley district to educate the villagers under the 41 Anini (ST) Assembly Constituency with effect from September 24 next, informed RO, Jempen.
Meanwhile, the first level checking of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) was done in the presence of the Administrative Officers and other nodal officers in charges.

in the last Parliamentary Election. He further informed that this exercises was carried

Talom Dupak, EAC/ERO 41 Anini constituency informed that the final publication of EPIC is completed. The total electors during 2004 were 4292 which has come down to 3,740 after deletion of double entry voters from electoral roll.
Further, he informed that out of 44 polling stations under Anini Constituency, 6 have been identified as hyper sensitive & 12 to be sensitive.

BOMDILA, Sept 21: A mass social service cum total sanitation drive was conducted on Sept 19 at Bomdila township under the patronize of Deputy Commissioner West Kameng Swati Sharma from 0900 hrs to 1300 hrs in order to keep the Bomdila township neat and clean.
Braving the inclement weather, the employees of entire govt. department of the district took active participations in the mass social service cum total sanitation drive led by the concern head of departments.
The student communities along with their teacher of various schools in Bomdila, members of bazaar welfare committee also joined the social service.
Appreciating the concept of organizing such type of mass social service, large number of general public also took active participations during the mass social service which in long run will be remember and help in keep the township clean and hygienic.

ITANAGAR, Sept 21: Senior Politician R K Khrimey has resigned from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress party.
Khrimey represents the 5 Kalaktang Assembly Constituency and was an associate member of the INC. He was however denied a Congress ticket for the ensuing assembly election.
Society demands restoration of power supply
ITANAGAR, Sept 21: Totpu Panchayat Youth Welfare Society highlighting the public grievances on power disruption in the area appealed the EE (E) Naharlagun Electrical Division Nirjuly to replace the existing defunct transformer of Totpu Panchayat immediately.
It said that the power supply had been disrupted since six months back due to breakdown of one of the transformer, it added.

Transfer order for a retired teacher!
Madam,
The political whimsical and blatant misuse of power seems to have reached its zenith in Arunachal Pradesh. Even the dead man could be a political victim in the land of “khusi Khusi”.
The most fitting case is that of a transfer order vide WS/EDN/EST/1956/PT.II/ 2009-
During his service life at Basar Rajeswaran had been loved and respected by the people of Basar for his outstanding service, sincerity and loving attitude towards the students and many of his former students have become officers in the state and central governments. Basar Ao Welfare Association had felicitated him for his outstanding service and as an honest and sincere teacher.
But alas, the dirty politics have no consideration for noble service rendered by the teacher.
Even after his retirement, some vested interest ‘politicians’ from Basar, many of whom have been his student, had recommended his name for transfer and the DDSE Aalo, unmindfully transferred him even without verifying the details whether the teacher is serving or already retired.
What more could be said about such irresponsible act? This is a stark example of the dirtiest mind of so called politicians of the 29th Basar Assembly constituency in particular, and state as a whole and sycophant babu’s.

We have to cast our valuable vote in favour of good leader who may dedicatedly look for the development of the 10th East Seppa constituency, Seppa is the oldest headquarter of the East Kameng district but still this constituency is the most backward and under developed in comparison to the other district HQs of the state. Due to our blind support to incapable leader in every election, many sectors like roads, electricity etc remain the same without development.
Therefore, it is the right time to take a resolve to support and elect capable candidate who can do better for the development of the 10th East Seppa constituency.

We should not underrate China’s capability
Madam,
Comment made by the Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu regarding Chinese capacity may ignite a conflagration on the bilateral relationship between India and China. Underrating China’s political and military potential will be the idiotic. Arunachal Pradesh is an inseparable part of India. India has the legitimate right to strengthen its capability to protect its territory through adequate infrastructure development and troop deployments.
Taking up challenge on economic front will not help reduce any pressure on both the sides, infact it will be hopeless to tackle such growing anxiety. China has always been pragmatic in constitutional regulations which should not be termed as game of psychological warfare. May be this style of conflict happens in our state but we must not neglect the fact that China has already developmed two lane road right up to the McMohan line and this is not a psychological expansion.
Indian media have also been not responsible enough to take this issue in a shrewd medium; there has always been exaggeration of the essentials. Before pointing out fingers at the “Global Times”, it is to be seen that have the media here become conscious of their own responsibilities?
